HOW WE STARTED& WHAT DRIVES US

Since 2020, Soulidarity & Human Rights has been helping the most vulnerable in society. Through various projects and initiatives, we make sure to help those who need it most at the moment. Covering basic needs such as food, shelter and social interaction are the first steps we take to prevent people from ending up in exclusion, which often leads to crime, criminality and a long and often impossible way back.

Our work is based on human rights, democracy and justice. Together with the goals of Agenda 2030 and Planetary boundaries, these are the pillars that permeate everything we do and guide the decisions we make. We start from the understanding of the concepts as formulated in the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the Swedish Constitution, Chapter 1, Section 2.

By supporting the individual to develop their own strengths and create opportunities for the future, we believe the association can help alleviate mental suffering in a vulnerable target group.

We strongly oppose all types of discrimination, including ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, gender and religious beliefs. Within the framework of the cooperation network, we can undertake specific assignments with targeted assistance where necessary.

Our values are based on a moral philosophy of human dignity and justice.

The moral and philosophical value base can be summarized by generally accepted concepts such as the principles of autonomy and human dignity based on democracy and human rights. The principles are dynamic, the underlying principles are intertwined and are based on the current situation in a continuous forward-looking work for the equal value and justice of all people.

The principle of autonomy is based on the democratic pursuit of equality and justice for all, through self-determination and self-development. Together with the principle of human dignity, which stipulates the equal value of all human beings in accordance with the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

In practice, this means that the value base requires a consensus that all people should be treated fairly, with equal respect for their humanity, and that it is always wrong to treat a person as a means. Furthermore, it means that humanitarian efforts should aim to alleviate and prevent a person from being subjected or potentially subjected to physical or mental suffering. Furthermore, we see that this is in line with the Swedish constitution (1 chapter 1§ & 2§) which stipulates that public power shall be exercised under the laws and this shall be exercised with respect for the equal value of all people and for the freedom and dignity of the individual. As civil society actors, we act together to safeguard and develop each individual's equality, opportunity and right to make use of these principles and laws. Furthermore, the value base does not discriminate or take a stand for or against regarding ethnicity, sexual identity, age, gender, religion or lack of religion, faith or lack of faith. As a collaborative network, we can undertake specific missions with targeted assistance where necessary.
